(June 17, 2016, Shanghai) On June 8, 2016, the HL-30 drilling team of Hilong Oil Service & Engineering Albania Ltd. successfully started to drill exploratory well-Shiprag-3 located in the Albania Block 2-3 owned by Shell. This is the first time for Hilong Oil Service & Engineering Co., Ltd. to enter the European drilling market, and marks another major breakthrough for Hilong in its expansion into the high-end oilfield services market.
The Albania Block 2-3 oil deposit is at a depth of 6,000-7,000 meters underground, with complex geological structure which leads to variety of challenges including serious leak-off, unstable well wall, high formation pressure and abundant H2S presentation. It is a very challenging project that places very high requirement on the quality of both drilling equipment performance and operating personnel.
HL-30 is a ZJ90DB drilling rig, primarily designed for oil and natural gas exploration and development wells of depths between 6,500 and 9,000m (21,21,325～29,530ft). It adopts advanced fully digital control technology, and can achieve smart control of the drilling rig through an integrated design of electronic drive system as well as gas, electricity, liquid and well drilling instrument parameters.
